Join Us

The Laboratory for Imaging Physics, Analysis, and Clinical Translation (IMPACT) is seeking highly motivated individuals to join several projects. The IMPACT Lab is directed by Dr. Grace J. Gang and is located in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Candidates can expect to join a strong, collaborative research team with access to extensive imaging hardware and computing resources.

Postdoctoral Fellow or Research Scientist

Positions are open for full-time postdoctoral researchers. Candidates should hold a PhD in one of the following or closely related fields: electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or computer science. Applicants should have strong programming, analytical, and communication skills. Experience in one or more of the following areas is required:

  • Image reconstruction and material decomposition
  • Image analysis and radiomics
  • Image-quality evaluation and imaging-chain modeling
  • Imaging hardware and system integration

Prior experience in medical imaging, particularly X-ray, CT, or cone-beam CT, is an advantage.

PhD and Master’s Students

Positions are open for PhD or master’s students seeking thesis projects. We welcome candidates who possess strong quantitative and communication skills. Candidates typically hold bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or computer science. PhD students are admitted through the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania.

How to Apply

Interested candidates may contact Dr. Gang directly with a CV and, if applying for a graduate degree, a transcript.
